Description
William the Conqueror's castle at Caen, Normandy in France is an excellent example of castle architecture that survived the savage fighting during World War II. The gatehouse was built after William's death in 1087.

Dear old Willy.. 1066 battle of hastings.. sighes.. the norman invasion.. alot of us brits dervive from Normandy,((even tho its hush hush!!)) some of my ancestors dervive, from the Le Grys.. line..they dont make castles like that anymore.. beautifully captured.. sublime :))))...
Impressive capture of this not-so-easyto-conquer-castle, but following Nikki's thoughts there is some nice tapestry (Bayeux) left of it! :) Gorgeous work!
