Description
"Police arrested two kids yesterday,
one was drinking battery acid,
the other was eating fireworks.
They charged one and let the other one off."
--Tommy Cooper
I'm interrupting our regularly scheduled series to post a photo or two of the fireworks from my New Year's Eve 2006. Twice a year, some of my neighbors spend vast amounts of money on things that literally go up in smoke. Still, they do it with a bang. With the lake present, it is doubly fun to watch. ----- Thank you for your permafrost comments on my last upload, Deep Ice V. I hope everyone is having a whiz-bang of a 2006 so far!

I love the frame. Very neon. KP
WHHHOOOOAAA!!! Oh!!!!!!!! This is Gorgeous!!!!!!!! I have sort of mixed feelings bout burning away so much money to, but I have to admit its beautiful!!
Just like that!...said Tommy Cooper....bang!
wow ! simply fantastic !
Beautiful. A double bang for your money. Excellent shot. Aloha
Lucky you... excellent night shot !
Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!! Capturing one is cool...but even the reflections...that make it, as P would have said...WICKED!!! I never understood how people can "burn" that much money on something that only lasts for a few seconds....then again, nobody i know could ever understand why i would spend so much money on a new camera bla bla bla. Wonderful capture K. Have a smashing day!!! #:O) MAS4eva!!!!
Spectacular capture, Kort. Have a wonderful New Year!
oh love and clear and clean.. and marvellous exposure..:)))))
BEautiful shot and beautiful reflection. MY" Vote"
Wow - love the reflections! What an amazing shot! The shutter speed is perfect to catch the burst, yet stop the action. A marvelous photo!
More than double because the reflections are different!! Wonderful photo!!
He he, they pay the stuff, you shoot it! :) Little floral holes in the tissue of space - it's fantastic work, Kort!
Now THAT'S some neighbors :D Great shot. Clear and with some really neat reflections. Love to Tommy Cooper joke as well...lol
Absolutely stunning ! Great shot !
Wonderful scene!
I wish I had your neighbors!Gorgeous capture Kortalouche!I love that reflection. You did a great job with this, and the ones you shared with us in the forum.LOL@ your quote, and interrupting your regularly scheduled series. So tomorrow I expect the 'iceman cometh',again? LOL. -M ;^)
Awesome, how do you get and plan for these shots, wonderful, stunning image:):):)...V
fireworks was banned here but it did not stop the idiots from using them and shooting counless bullets. luckily no fires started close to me. excellent capture. I still have not had the chance to do a nite capture. you have it down pat!!
Excellent compo shooting this over a lake, brilliant idea Kort. Because our island is so small, a permit is required to purchase fireworks, then it's not the big noise makers, and aerials are banned completely....the smoke that produced hangs heavy on the island for quite awhile...people who are asthmatic really suffer during this holiday...but it's once a year and we do it up right! Aloha!
Fireworks and then again in reflection, brilliant. Not a fan of frames, but this one really works.
Happy new year buddy!!!
Absotively posolutely nifty!

Hee for the joke! Lovely shot with the reflection apart from it being unlevel...
