Helloooooooooooooooo again!Nice to see you!!!LOL.
So nice of you to drop in!So I shall thank you by boring you to tears...So please feel free to ignore the following unimportant babble if you want,lol... Don't worry,I won't know the difference anyway, lol.
Oooh! We're getting close to the holidays!I've already noticed there are less and less of you around...So before even more of you disappear,I want to wish you all a most wonderful holiday filled with happiness and much joy!
Ok.This is just something I've played with.I took a lousy pic of my daughter,(no surprise there, lol),so I decided to try to make it look like an oil painting. It was 'painted' solely with the clone and blur tools, and then I added that canvas texture.I used the same techniques I would use if I were actually 'painting',hence the shoulder blending with the background. This actually looks more like a painting the more enlarged it is.If I ever print it,I would do that most likely at 200% or so.If you do that I think you'll see what I mean...
And SURPRISE(!) I'm allowing comments.LOL.I want to know what you think of this! And I must admit,I've missed commenting. So me and my three fingers are gonna attempt to visit as many of you as possible this weekend. :^)
Till then, thanks for looking,(and reading, lol).Oh and thanks for the IM's you sent re my last upload. It's always great to hear from you!!!
Okay, done babbling now, lol.Obviously SOME things will never change, lol.Ta!
MWAH!!!!
Moi :^)

Ooooooh... very beautiful "painting". Your daughter is beautiful and sweet and the technique you used is fabulous. This really does look like an oil painting. Excellent!
Glad to see ya posting..Marlene, this is beautiful..You did an outstanding job making it look like a painting. I love the softness of the portrait and the warm colors...I don't think you could take a poor picture of your daughter..She's too beautiful... For three fingers, you sure type a lot..lol...this is about as far as I go with two fingers..lol,, Merry and Happy Holidays to you and your beautiful family...
Oh wow...it DOES look like a painting. Love the soft effect and the texture. Glad you're here!!! (lol@3 fingers.) HUGS :0)
Going for print with this? Should look great printed. Beautiful portrait.
AW shucks! Thanks guys!I forgot to mention,it has those 'eyes that follow you' thing. That's what made me want to work with this in the first place.K.I'll shut-up now, lol.
First, you have a very lovely daughter, if any boys came around the house (And I was her dad), I would use a quote from the movie "Clueless"...."I have a 45 and a shovel, I doubt anyone would miss you!" Now for the image, I love the effect! Very much like an oil painting, and indeed I think all your painterly sensibilities helped make this look so much like a painting! The whole post work to a photo is still new to me, so I am impressed when I see it done os well!! Nice to see you post again!! We miss you!!!
A spiffing Image here....a dab of the Paint gives it a softness ...and, as to those that don't allow Comments...fine and dandy...however, there are those that only allow "IM Comments" and....imho...this is hardly a Community thing....more the "Old Boy's or Old Girls Club"...those that participate in this Community by...ebot (just My view...as has been asked for)...once again...a fine Image...One must participate in a Community...to be ...part of it...salute
I hear you Brian. But it's really just a priorities thing for most of us.However, if one ONLY posts with no comments and doesn't participate otherwise I couldn't agree with you more. :^)
Wow, your daughter looks so great with hear head a bit tilted, a lovely capture of this young lady! :)
WOw, you certainly gave it that painted feel. Excellent postwork on this on Marlene. The eyes are following me!! Thanks for sharing your technique AND allowing comments!!! Happy Holidays to you and your lovely family, and have a great weekend. :)

simply beautiful ! great painting postwork effect !
Now all you have to do is resize it to 300dpi and print it. Would look great on your wall. You even have an idea of the matting to use, but creating it in Photoshop. Cool work Marlene.

V! AWESOME!
this is really very, very well done marlene! beautifully worked & golden in tone.. you can have these printed on canvas easily enough then strech it & frame! :] she is lovely
Excellent affect I might try that on a landscape I have, one good Turner deserves another, LOL. If this was a bad capture, which I doubt, then you really have turned it round. Blessed Be.
Very nice portrait!Beautiful girl! Excellent work!!V
Meg looks very beautiful, i like her lovely expression. a most wonderful portrait, the painted style adds superb. i like what you did Marlene.wish you and your family a wonderful weekend.* TWO THUMBS UP * #:O)
I love the effect and the painting, it turned out so beautiful!! Thanks for the view!! 8-)
eueueueueueuhhhhhhhhhh....., aout painting and canvas, as you tel it, I believe it.... I 've looked it as a photo... so I can tell: " I love the expression of her face but the shoulders ( too much "frontal") and the framing (too much in the center ) could be better. I 'm hard, I know it, but they pay me for
As a photo I would agree,Eric...but this is supposed to look like a 'classic' oil portrait,in which case I find the framing, her pose, and the 'centeredness' of it to be just right. At least to my sensibilities.
such a beautiful girl and wonderful portrait! love her expression and bowed head! excellent work! ;o)
