Population : 38 h. Altitude : 525 m.
Département des Alpes de Haute Provence (France)
Entre Apt (22 km) et Forcalquier (37km) prendre la N100
puis à mi chemin la petite D155 direction Banon pendant 10 km.
(ou depuis Apt suivre la D22 direction Banon jusqu'à Simiane, puis prendre à droite la D18)
Entouré de somptueux paysages, Oppedette est un petit village d'à peine 40 habitants perché sur un promontoire rocheux. Le village s'intègre dans un décor sauvage de roches et de gorges creusées par la rivière du Calavon pour former ce qu'on appelle ici le "Canyon d'Oppedette".
En abordant le village par la route qui descend depuis Vachères, vous aurez l'impression de voir jaillir Oppedette de la roche. Les maisons regroupées sont en parfaite harmonie avec l'environnement car on a pris soin de restaurer les maisons en conservant le caractère rustique et authentique d'Oppedette.
Surrounded by sumptuous landscapes, Oppedette is a small village perched on a rocky promontory, with just 40 residents, The village is set within a wild landscape of rocks and gorges sculpted by the Calavon river which have created the "Oppedette Canyon ".
Approaching the village by the the road from Vachères, it will seem that Oppedette springs out of the rocks. The cluster of houses are in complete harmony with the environment, and great care has been taken to conserve the rustic and authentic character during the restoration of the houses.
