Description
Controller 09, Ivor cursed the gunner and shot him dead. They replaced him with one of the Scavs from below-decks. The Co-Pilot reported a radio communication from the tall tower about a robot having the multi-hued woman.
Ivor just wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He ordered the lander crew, "Take us to the tower and secure the woman with all due dispatch, you scum!"
The Scavs worked with emotionless speed until the tower pulled into veiw. A giant dragonic monster perched on the side of the tower and looked like it was talking, or listening to the people on the tower top. He felt the hair lift on the back of his neck, as he continued to fall into the abyss of this mission.
He choked for a second and shouted, "Shoot that THING! Kill IT!"
The lander pulse-cannons stuttered star-hot plasma inot the back of the creature. The plasma-blasts didn't leave a mark on it..
Ivor paled as he gasped out, "No! It isn't possible! If it lives, THIS will kill it!"
The River King turned with furious slow motion. The huge eyes of the beast tracked the lander like turrents of an ancient power.
Ivor screamed, "GET US OUT OF HERE!! GO! GO!!"
Ivor knew intellectually that the creature could not possibly fly. It was too large. It could not fly.
The River King launched into the air with powerfull, awesome grace, his eyes glowing like laser-sights. He aimed for the cabin, where the people were.
Ivor screamed as he saw the last thing he ever wanted to see.
The River King struck the lander with a horrific crashing and crumpling of metal.
