Description
While I was out driving taking pictures of the birds and the fall foliage I ran across this crumbling chimney.
A lot of the fall colors had not got to this shady spot yet.

You certainly have an artist's eye Susan! This is gorgeous...sad but lovely and beautifully captured. Bravo!!
A wonderful capture. It is fascinating, and a little sad, how only the fireplaces and chimneys remain, a kind of monument to the life that was once there. Lovely shot. :o) CC
an excellent capture. It is neat how vertical the trees and chimney is. I too am glad you are done with chemo. Great job :)
Very kewl hun S reminds me of some of the stacks I've seen S magnificent POV that you captured there S Thank you so much for sharing :) and glad you're done with that chemo S HUGE HUGS
OOh had this been around here, a crumbling chimney meant a foundation somewhere that may have had an old dump located nearby.. and that meant wonderful bottle hunting grounds. That's a very beautiful image and you have a wonderful eye for beauty.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR---eat capture here hun: and thanks for sharing it here at render!! hugs)) how r u ??come to sibs give us a report ok
Excellent work very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful landmark capture! Bravo Susan, and congrats on your last Rx, praying that you quickly build your strength back up and can put all this illness behind you! Hugs!
so cool to see this old chimney in the forest! glad you had a nice time outside taking pics! ann :)
Beautiful capture of this spring-like spot amidst a world filled with fall! :)
Fascinating contrast between the red brick and stone.. must be a story there all in itself. (maybe a lesson.. can't rebuild a chimney top-down..lol) Wonder if any stockings where ever hung at it's base? Cool pic Susan. Am also glad to hear your Chemo is finished and let us know if the treatment worked and your out of the woods yet.. we will all breath a huge sigh of great relief if this is the case! Huggles and vote to a super lady.. Dave :^)
I have made repairs on chimneys like this. very photogenic and you made an excellent capture Susan.
I see alot of these standing after the house burns to the ground. A monument to the lives that once occupied this place. A little sad.
them moles are getting very clever..preparing for the winter i'd say..not the best of bricklayers though are they..:)this is a super unusual shot susan..it looks as its always been there even before the trees..knockout..ps pinched a copy..(v)
This is neat ... great idea to stop and shoot this.

Wonderful shot Susan! Love places like this, a small hint of something that was, all the moments that were experienced there. Thanks for sharing & your wonderful comment. Merry Christmas! Rod
Now this takes me back to my old Kentucky home. It always fascinated me, coming across a plot like this where Nature had reclaimed Her own. These chimneys seem to be more prevalent in the Bluegrass State than elsewhere. Anyway, a fantastic capture!
