Description

The last "Lady"... The nights are cooler and soon a light frost will greet the morning. What was once a vibrant thistle patch, is quiet now. Her friends left two weeks ago to begin their long migration southward. For some reason, she has decided to stay. It is too late for her to start that journey...she will soon begin a much different one. Only the fluttering of her wings, color the sky...always resting on the one remaining thistle blossom that provides her with nourishment. But sadly, it too will soon be gone. She folds her wings back to embrace the feeble Fall sun. She waits.... She is alone... She is the last Lady... Nikon D70 This is the final image in my Painted Lady series.
