Emma try out an other lightning. I think that is the reason for the black wing! Otherwise it is a very beautiful image :-)

Hehe! To me it looks ok, since i love contrast, but if you want to change i suggest checking lighting - if you're using P5 it has a bug that sometimes causes some surfaces to turn black unless they're lighted from the back - you could try this - also check you haven't accidentally switched "diffuse color" to black (object color if you're using P4) - anyway, as i said, i like it that way! :)
