Description
this is the first damage i saw today beside a tranformor blowing up late night[sorry I miss that shot]
I stay at my son house and the lights went out around 11:30pm. I fell a sleep. and wake up to see it stop raining and most the winds die out. at times it came back as a ban came our way.
This tree fell down about a block frome my son house and took out the wires and phone lines of the neightor hood. some wirwe men came by and say they had a report of one wire down. They going to report it for it will take three trucks to do the job.
my son took the shoot of me by the roots I took the shot of what the tree took out and it just miss that car.
I ok I at home now with the lights on at my house . my son is without lights.
thanks every one for every thing

It is amazing how powerful Nature can be. I am glad you and yours are safe.
we never even got a drop of rain from it! It was so fortunate that it decreased in strength before land fall or there would be no houses left. glad that you and your family are safe
Glad that you're OK Jock. thanks for posting the photos. We don't get many hurricanes in the desert where I live ... I don't think I'd care for the experience either. :-) Take care.

The force of nature. Scaring and impressing.

Wow - glad all are safe Jock.
That's a really big root ball! Glad to see that it's not raining or flooding there. What a mess, it's going to take a while to get this all straightened out.
Your photos make it all so much more real to me. I don't know anyone else who lives down south. I suffered through many earthquakes while I lived in Los Angeles, but now I live outside of Santa Fe (near rayburg). Your photos are shocking. Excellent POVs. Thank you for keeping us updated my friend. My prayers are with you and all of the south.
Thanks for capturing and sharing this with the world. Hard to believe nature's storms sometimes do this kind of damage, yet somehow nature never seems as distructive as human kind has been on occasion. Glad you are okay and have lights and hope your son's are trued back on soon. Take care! ~Vote~
