Description
Once again Mother Nature has shown her power.
I'm still shocked following the news.
Those images touch me deeply and my thoughts go out to the victims of Katrina.
This is my tribute to them.
My prayers are with those who suffer under Katrina's wrath.
About the postwork
The b/w background stands for the darkness, fear and hopelessness those poor people are feeling right now.
The coloured part stands for hope. Those who have faith in God will find peace in their prayers, but also nature itself gives hope to all and there will always be a blue sky if one don't give up hope.
Thanks for stopping by and any comments!

I always appreciate them very much!
Sorry for not commenting today... we haven't had electricity for some hours.
Glad nothing had happened to my PC when suddenly all broke down while working on this image.
Will be back with full power tomorrow catching up again... at least I hope so!

great tribute here, Moni... we all could learn, if we wanted... and its really a shame that millions of dollar are pushed into an aggressive-war and that theres no real help for all those poor and now even more poor people... its terrifying to watch at the silly smile of a man who calls himself the leader of a nation while getting in touch with all the pain - shame on him!!! god may help us all... not only to save us sometimes from nature, but primarily from silly people with too much might and influence... and nature only strikes back... all depends on action and reaction... thanks for this wonderful gift - it should be seen as a sign to think about life, death, sense and humans behavior...
Eine gute Idee und wirklich passend dargestellt. Ich bete f die Menschen dort. V
A very nice and appropriate tribute, Moni :-)
indeed! placing blame is a low priority... the relief efforts are staggering!
Hmmm, your empathy with the victims even went so far you were without power as well! Impressive work and glad to see your power is restored! Beautiful tribute, a continuous prayer for the victims is necessary!

I'm not around much these days... posting little, commenting even less. Just wanted to tell you how beautiful and touching your tribute is.... such a talent, and such a warm heart you have dear Monika... wanted you to know I haven't forgotten you, or you wonderful work.
Wonderful and thoughtful dedi Monika. My thoughts and prayers are with them too :)
WOW -- incredible presentation...
a lovely and much heartfelt tribute. may all our thoughts and good wishes go to those in need
I like the green foliage on grey effect. New life coming from death... as the risen saviour. When the pondwater subsides.. the greening of her land will begin.
An excellent shot, Moni, and your postwork really rocks. I hope it's all over soon for those people in NO, but I'm afraid it will take (much too long) time to return to the situation before Katrina. Mhak, Tjeerd.
This is beautiful in every way!!
