Description
Last Call. Much of Mauna Loa was the same. It is colored with red rocks until the next level above which is black. The day is late and the heat is on. Heading downwards to cooler grounds. Will be back another time. Aloha and thank you for viewing

This is really an amazing image, otherworldly, in fact, here in the desert, we go up to get cooler; not down :-) Wonderful!
a rocky road ahead, but smooth sailing at the crest. super landscape
wonder how old is that lava there? that is old lava? real good shot
boy i dunno if that would be fun to walk barefoot on looks hot and so rugged, if it were me i would be running for the beach!!!
Looks like some rough terraine to hike...I like your waterfall and rainforest shots a little more..this looks like the surface of mars when I was there last time =)))
Thanks for the fine trip to Mauna Loa...you went further than I would have...excellent view, but a rough hike...Good job Sharky! Aloooooha!
looks like volcanic rocks, is'nt it? what a nature here !!!! Great shot Errol!
Impressive landscape !! Awesome !!! :o)
Time to rest the Feet... and still want some of that Soil for My Garden...aloha bro!
An unforgiving landscape. A real treat to see as well!
Heading down for cooler grounds!? Isn't the warmth usualy related to the height in a different direction? Mauna Loa goes a bit beyond my comprehension, its area must be vast compared by mountains I know! Fantastic work, Errol!
amazing landscape !
jcv2 and diomedes66... True, as you go up, the temperature gets cooler. But on this day with no help from the clouds, the sunrays are more severe at higher altitudes and there are less vegetation to cover you. The lower elevation level had huge trees with a breeze of fog mist upon me. And besides, the WINE Factory was several miles below, lol. Aloha
Great shot ....looks prehistoric.
So desolate and beautiful at the same time!
excellent impression again! looks very deserted and hot! seems to be a mystical area! ;o)
Still beautiful!!!
