Description
Returning home. I just thought this was funny. They had built a fence to protect the koa trees on the left. Here you see some Cactus plants wanting in.
Koa trees, native to Hawaii is a hardwood used in households as premium furniture, lumber, and fine carved art. It is expensive. Without careful management, free-ranging cattle have probably done more to destroy thousands of acres of prime koa forest than any other single element of post-contact Hawaii. For the restoration of these koa trees, fence and protected areas have been designated for the koa forestry.
Aloha and thank you for viewing

This is just great. Love the stump and how the hill seems to just end in the horizon.

Excellent composition and beautiful landscape. Very well done!
A detail is really powerful here, this fence seems a frontier, one side - cactus. the other side leaf trees. A whole symbolic ! I love that !
Vulnerable balances of nature need preservation, and you show that well! Funny shot, it's just as if there's an invasion, spiky Triffids I guess ;)

It does look like the cactus is slowly creeping towards the fence to get out! Nice POV here my man! Aloha!
Attack of the Mutant Killer Cactii - doesn't quite have Hollywood potential, but it's close! Very nice shot!

Funny, one doesn't associate prickly pear catus with Hawaii! A neat way to show and demonstrate the ecological problems and temporary solutions. Well done!
