Description
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, A state of bliss
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I.
Excerpt of lyrics from Learning To Fly by Pink Floyd
I saw these planes flying in formation through the clouds and was struck by the sense of joy and freedom the pilots must feel. I have been fortunate enough to fly in a couple of small planes before, and even got to pilot them for a little while. It is quite a rush and very hard to become earth-bound once again.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and I wish everyone a wonderful week! Thank you for stopping by and for your comments on my last two images, What These Eyes Have Seen and Colorful Swarm.

Beautiful photo... I just love that sky and a great capture on the 3 planes! :-) Love Floyd and that song too!! :-) Great choice!! V
The sky alone looks fabulous with those visible light rays - and the planes are an added bonus. Now if only you could show us the dark side of the moon I'd be REALLY impressed :)
Great band...dont get shots like this everyday!!...superb!...never flown, prefer to keep my toes on the ground :)
Beautiful capture!!
