Hi. I don't know if this is the right forum for this question. But if not, please point me to the right place.

I have Poser Pro 2014 Game Developer. It was bought a long time ago and Poser has changed owners. Now I have a new PC with WIN11 and would need to have my Poser on the new computer. I have tried to get a ticket on Poser Bondware support but the message doesn't seem to go through. Does anyone know what to do?

Thank you for your help.

TG

Is this the URL you are trying to contact support with?

You may need to set up an account first before you submit the ticket.

However, I can't remember if Bondware inherited the versions of Poser that were released before Poser 11.  I might be wrong but I think Bondware only got Poser 11 and later.

Do you still have the original installation files For Poser Pro 2014 on your old computer? If so, transfer them to a thumb drive and use that to install to your new computer.  Otherwise you may not be able to obtain installation files for PP2014 GameDev anymore.

From Google AI search:

Background on Bondware's Ownership
Acquisition Year: Bondware acquired Poser from Smith Micro Software in June 2019.
First Release: Their very first release was the Poser 11.2 update in September 2019.
Prior Versions: Older iterations like Poser 10, Poser Pro 2014, and original versions of Poser 11 were originally developed and published by Smith Micro Software or MetaCreations/Curious Labs further back in history.
Licensing Updates: Bondware did issue patches and licensing transition tools that affected existing valid users of versions above Poser 10 (such as Poser Pro 2014) so they could continue authenticating their software under the new corporate infrastructure, but they never owned or produced standalone versions older than Poser 11.

If I recall, when Smith Micro shut down the server, Bondware offered an upgrade for the Game Dev to Poser 11. As Deecey suggested, contact support at the link she posted for help.

If you had a license for Poser Pro 2014 and upgraded to Game Dev version then you can use the original serial number you just won't had the extras of Game Dev.  But as the others have said you can try and get Poser 11 which would have most of the Game Dev options.  You can have multiple versions on the same computer and run them at the same time.

Poser 5, 6, 7, 8, Poser Pro 9 (2012), 10 (2014), 11, 12, 13, 14

What is golden about the GDE version you have is the user license, because it gives you the rights to use ALL SM assets provisioned royalty free distribution (in games).  I am not sure how that GDE license version applies to the Bondware upgraded version but I suspect lawyers would go into headscratch mode about it.

The Core terms of the Poser GDE license language are summarized (By Google AI) below:

🎮 The Game Developer Content License

• Permitted 3D Export: You are granted a perpetual, royalty-free license to export modified or derivative 3D figures, clothing, and props into external game engines (such as Unity or Unreal Engine).

• No Extra Royalties: Once you purchase the software, you can sell your commercial games containing these exported 3D assets without paying any residual royalties or licensing fees to Smith Micro.

🛡️ Protected Asset Requirements (Anti-Ripping)

• No Raw/Unmodified Distribution: You cannot distribute raw, unmodified character files, geometry meshes, or texture maps in their standalone, native proprietary formats.

• Compiling and Encryption: Assets must be baked, compiled, or encrypted inside your final game application. The developer must ensure that a typical end-user cannot easily extract or "rip" the original standalone Poser asset files from the game folder.

📦 Included Content Coverage

• What's Covered: The perpetual 3D publishing game license applies to all native content included with the software (such as the standard figures and stock libraries).

• Third-Party Content Exception: The license does not automatically cover third-party assets bought from separate marketplaces (e.g., the Renderosity or old Content Paradise stores). Third-party content remains subject to the license terms imposed by its original creators.

🖥️ Installation and Activation

• Perpetual Usage: The license grants indefinite, perpetual usage of the software.

• Mandatory Activation: Online software activation is strictly required using a valid serial number.
