Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 May 31 2:18 pm)
Yes, I agree. If you want to mix & match, then individual conversions are the way to go.
I also do them, but I do them manually (magnets & morphbrush), because I dont trust conversion software. That way, I can keep texture stretching and other issues to a minimum.
I did my figure conversions mostly just for heck of it. Hybrids are actually a lot easier. Lol.
But let's be honest: I guess 99% of the remaining Poser users would want a LaFemme that natively could wear G8/G9 clothes.
If I wanted to earn some $$$ and could figure out how to get a working G8/G9 rig into Poser (And bypass copyright problems), that's where I'd start. ;-)

"The problem is, to do this, you need a REALLY good knowledge of the morphbrush and about rigging and grouping, so while the principle is easy, the actual conversion is quite involved."
The average user does not know how to use the grouping tool because again, guess what: no modern tutorials for it that were not written in the Poser 6 days and which are largely unavailable because they were on dead sites, anyway. Or what welding is. Or what 'rigging probably needs editing' means. This is what I have been screaming about for literally years.
So thank you for at least being honest about what you think I will never be able to do. That made things really clear.
https://www.renderosity.com/premium-tutorials/167/poser-pro-11-tutorial-create-and-customize
This
tutorial covers the morph brush, at least the basics. Skip to around
the 12 min mark as the first part deals with the face room which no
longer exists. It was done in P11 but still applies to 12 and 13 as
there haven't been many changes to the morph brush since then. He also
covers a bit of magnets and the hair room later in the video. Magnets
are good for fitting hair models to different head shapes, that's pretty
much all I ever use them for. They can fit clothing too and morph
targets can be spawned from them but the morph brush is better for that
on clothing because it's easier to control.
Nerd3D did
several tutorials for customizing la femme back when she came out, which
also covers some tools like the morph brush and editing jcms. They're
on page 3 of the Poser tutorial series. Of course there's room for a lot
more tutorials covering various tools and techniques. There are several
features that have been added to 12 and 13 which makes content
creation/customization a bit easier, that no one has ever done any
explaining or tutorials for that I'm aware of. I haven't seen anyone
delve into actual rigging in any of these either so that's been
something I've had to learn on my own through trial and error over the
years. There were several youtube tutorials done by Smith-Micro back
around P9/2012 with the introduction of weight maps but they were lost
in the transition to bondware.
I am fairly well versed with the morph brush, but I will check that out, many thanks. The severe lack of rigging tutorials and sharing said knowledge anywhere is very jarring and frankly, baffling to me. The loss of the SM site and its knowledge base still hurts and I am aware that's when a lot of people/creators/users left Poser entirely.

I have been experimenting and uploaded all my freebies as ZIPS to Dropbox. The old files, no modifications, no enhancements, no upgrade, nothing.
As I am too lazy to check everything myself go ahead, make my day and try this link :
check the box left of "name", this will highlight all the files. Then click "download" above that box.
A full report will be expected : worked - swarmed with viruses after following that link - found a lot of pictures of scantily clad women too - etc ...
Look 4 posts above this one for a small consolation.Must admit that my patience is wearing thin at this point. The resources hosted on ShareCG are seemingly lost and what little is on Renderhub is negligible.
Will we see those resources re-appear ever again?Because right now, it doesn't look like it.
So I have Daz Zygote Centaur and Daz Zygote Faerie
I wanna know
Those freebies are Renderosity you click to download and are redirected to sharecg but I can't download them anymore since it shut down (Anyone who has download them?) :

By the way, here's the render in Daz Iray I do have:

Another small consolation: we are trying to keep track of the authors who are reuploading their ShareCG stuff elsewhere.
You can find it here

Hope it helps!

Files work in Poser5.
A special thanks to FairyNetta, Madrigal and Badmoon for checking Bonnie in DazStudio, P6 and P7. They report Bonnie to work fine in these programs.
They are all PZ2 files. No regular Inject files included.
Skin resourse packs used on textures include RBSD_V4_MerchantBase, nicu1 makeup,
LM_Dream_Resources, Levis and my own photos.
All faces done by my spinning of the morph dials.
The light included is a modification of one of Travelers free lights. He allows shareing.

Yes I would love to see pictures!
Have fun rendering!

This is the sticky part:
NO distribution of files enclosed for any kind of profit (money or other) in any way.
It is very ambiguous the way it is written; profit would always mean a monetary exchange of some type. It needs further clarification. Overall, it appears that the file could be shared freely, but double-checking with the vendor is the best option to avoid future embarrassment.

Converting the figures does sound like the way to go if you can figure it out. But the problem is, then you are still limited to one figure's clothing and poses. It's great if all I want to use is Vicky's clothes. But I also convert Dawn's, Stephanie's, Antonia's, Alyson's, Miki's, Sydney's, etc. I tend to "borrow" clothing from all the characters I have, even some I don't. I've even used some of M4's stuff on some of the gals. Having to convert a figure every time I want to use a new outfit isn't as practical as converting the clothing, as the clothing takes fewer steps.
Your method works for you, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution.
