"Highway Closure". A young woman takes a driving vacation across the country, but finds an unexpected destination. An entry in the 2018 Houston 48 Hour Film Contest by the team "Perfect Time To Panic Productions". The genre is Mystery, the required prop is a wrapped package, the required character is Dennis or Denise Merino - a mathematician, and the required line of dialogue is "On your mark, get set, go!" The animation was done in Carrara using 3D elements from DAZ3D and Renderosity,

Thanks. Yes, I was up most of the weekend. The saying is "If you sleep, you're not doing it right." But Carrara makes it (barely) possible with it fast renderer, I got around ten seconds per frame for most of it - no fancy lighting, etc. Four minutes at 24 (1280x720) frames per second is .... uhhh ... a lot of frames, although there are some stills that cut that down.

Many ,many thanks for info, me I have and use Carrara quite a lot but fir my Animation I fall back in Daz or Poser with may be a bit of Blender now I can say that my computer is quite fast but I tend to use Pal that's the format over here and run at 25 Fames but like most people I tend to make it up in small short parts then use one of my video programs to join it all up do not make much use of sound keep up the great work

radioham -

Thanks again. I also use Poser when the purchased model requires it, typically if there is a nice ERC feature involved. And yes, the real movie gets made in the video editing, in my case Movie Edit Pro from Magix. That includes the sound FX and music, which can make a big difference. I recall a story about Steven Spielberg hearing John William's "Shark Theme" when they were making "Jaws". Spielberg was reportedly very disappointed, this big time composer gives me repeated "dum-dum-dum-dum"? He later admitted that the music was half the movie. The "Shark Theme" has been called the most recognizable music on the planet. Even the sharks swim around humming it.

Thanks, Misty. "Mystery" is not a genre I would have picked on my own, but that's the point of the contest, get out of your comfort zone.
