Subject: Editing imported Geometry

I ran across two LW models I imported into Carrara 8 pro. I need to edit them, but can't seem to seperate sections of the geometry into seperate objects (doors, windows, etc) on one (which is an asteriod base with a door.

The flip side I need to edit a surface and can't remember how to combine two objects together to create one mesh again so I can edit the surface (window glass is a seperate object).

I can always go the Hexagon route, but it be nice to do mild alteration without exporting and important and exporting again.

I've seperated object in modeling room before, I just can't remember how I did it. Since this is an import, there might be a step I'm forgettting.

Thanks,

Joe
