Subject: Wizard scenes installed?

DocMatter ( ) posted Wed, 28 December 2011 at 12:03 PM · edited Sun, 18 January 2026 at 8:56 PM

I recently reinstalled Carrara Pro 8 after reformatting my computer and now whenever I try to use the "wizard" in the shader room, it teels me that I need to install the Wizard scenes from the installation CD.  I get the same message when I try and select a particular atmosphere for the scene.

I don't remember ever having to do this before and I don't have the installation CD for CP8.  It was downloaded from Daz.

Any suggestions would be a great help.  Thanks!

just do to Daz3D.com and download the "content CD"  you may have to ask for a reset of download/purchase items.  you'll need to go into you acct info and such, little bit of cunfusing navigation but you should be able to find it.

Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.

If that's the native content, I already did that.  The scenes, shaders and such are all in the browser at the bottom, but I can't use them with the wizard.

I tried reinstalling the native content, but I still get the same message.

sounds like you need t relink them.. or maybe delete them from the program before installing new so it'll relink from scratch?  not sure without hands on

try the Daz forums?

Git it fixed.  Turns out the Native content was defaulting to the "ProgramFiles(x86)" folder while Carrara was defaulting to the "ProgramFiles" folder.
