Subject: Sending a Camera to the Director's View?

Does Carrara have a quick simple command to send a camera to the same position as the Director's view like Bryce does?

Sure does! In the upper left corner of your view port simply click the name of your current camera then from the pop-up menu select "Set position to >" and pick whatever camera you want to match up.
Very useful feature.
