Subject: Negative morph values

Jedi_Padawan ( ) posted Sun, 13 January 2008 at 3:56 PM · edited Wed, 08 July 2026 at 12:44 AM

When I try to get a negative value on a face morph of a Poser Figure (D3) in C6, the value doesn't work or better, will be set back to zero again.
Though it seems that the negative morphs will be accepted if I load them as a pre-set face pose from Poser.
Is there a workaround to get the negative values to work when applying them manually?

Thanks a lot for your help, it's highly appreciated!

In Poser the morphs are set with max and min values. In the parameters palette at the right hand side, click on the triangle then "settings" and you can reset the limits to include negative values.

Dadt, I didn't mean Poser, but Carrara..... is that what you're talking about, too?
I have to check that this night when I'm back home again.

Yes I Know you are talking  about Carrara but you are using a figure designed for Poser and the limits are set and can be changed in that program. I'm not sure whether hey can be changed from within Carrara.

I've just pulled a figure into Carrara and cannot find any way of getting at the morph target limits setting.

it's allowing me to enter negative values in the carrara6pro field
on the upper right of the slider (OS X).
the negative values show their fx on the figure (apollo wizard robe/hat).

d3 is don3? I don't use that stuff at all.  yes, don casual works in c6pro.
trying nose morphs - they allow me to enter a negative value in the field,
which has a result opposite to that of the positive value.
perhaps there's some difference between
the application of this in windows that disables it.
constraints full/off  has no effect in my case.

some difference in the latest patch, some difference in which version
of poser is being called by carrara as the default runtime, etc.

I checked the limits in Poser and they were there (min. about -100000). Well, I loaded D3 (that would be David, Miss Nancy ;o) in Poser, injected all Head and Body morps and saved him as a new figure in my runtime.
Then I switched to C6 and loaded this new figure.
Believe it or not, but this time the negative values have been accepted. Hmm, I don't know why it is that way, but I'm totally happy now that I found a way for me to make it work.

Thank you all very much for your help!

Take care and have a good day,

~Sassy~
