Not on Mac, but the simple version is. C5 on main pc then render nodes on the others. Make sure to include all the plugins on render nodes. Check the port options also under prefs. Don't forget ot enable network rendering in render room. There is some info on this in the docs. Wireless will work. Wireless is not as fault tolerant as cable so yes there can be issues introduced, but as long as you have a reliable connection with good thoroughput it should be fine.
No need to think outside the box....
Just make it
invisible.
I use my macbook as a render node and my iMac as the main. What i do is, load the scene to be rendered on the iMac, then i start the render node on the macbook, the macbook is wireless and on the same network, so i dont have to mess with any settings. Then i begin to render on the iMac, and with in a couple of minutes, the macbook starts to load the scene and assist with the rendering. Just so long as you 2 macs can see eachother on the network, ive never had any problems with communication. Regards, E PS. Im sure, however, that I would be faster if you can actually hardwire to the network.

Anybody using Carrara 5 Pro on OS X with an Airport Extreme wireless network. Can this network rendering node feature be used with this setup or dose the networking have to be hardwired? If it can how do you set it up? Once setup ether wireless or hardwired, can it render animations with this feature. Thanks for any info. Cristian.
