Subject: Galleries, users and my first render.....

Attached Link: My first Carrara render.

I've posted my first image at the Carrara galleries, but I've noticed there seem to very few users posting here. Also the forum activity seems to be little. Anyone know where the Carrara users normally hang out and where they do show their work? I know of the DAZ forums, but there's hardly anyone there also.

Or is the Carrara community just very small? With such a brilliant piece of software, there must be a good number of users or did DAZ buy another abandoned application?

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Another site is www.eovia3d.net

Or http://groups.yahoo.com/group/carrara/

From what I've been observing, is that all of usual sites/forums are dead......could be start of summer, people are busy with RL or what not. No idea.....

Actually this used to be one of the more active Carrara forums. Several factors have combined to slow it down. First was the sale to DAZ.

Then there is the recent Hexagon upgrade, that's focused much of the attention on that program. Plus Hex and Carrara used to both use this forum, but recently Hexagon got it's own forum, which has been very active recently.

There is also a fairly active community over on 3D Commune.

Of course there's never been a lot of finished art work posted... I think because a lot of it winds up in the Poser Galleries or as animation on other sites.

It's certainly quiet compared to the Bryce forum and gallery.   But I think with the number of newbies (myself included) that should change pretty soon.    For the better I hope.

Compared to the poser forums, it's almost dead around here. Looking forward to seeing more images, there's some awesome stuff in the galleries here. Hopefully the new poser users will not use Carrara for NVWASIAT images, this application deserves some challenging renders.

I've checked out www.eovia3d.net already, there are some great images there, but the forums are kind of quite also.

Alot of professionals may not post for many reasons. I don't think quantity really matters. The eovia galleries have some nice images. There are also some on cgtalk I believe. No offense, but the poser forum to me is waay too crowded with tons of off topic stuff so I hope that doesn't happen here. It has been slow here lately tho.

No need to think outside the box....

Can't speak for Poser, but the Bryce forum is more a community of Brycers rather than a forum about Bryce.  So yeah, we go off topic, but it's usually relevent to the Brycers.  We are a pretty tight bunch over there.

I like Carrara a lot and I'm totally going to continue to use it and post in the gallery and forum, but for teh community and social aspect, I'm going to keep an eye on the Bryce forum.

And Rendergods of course.
