Subject: I'm thinking of getting C5...Not pro,too broke!

I'm seriously thnking of DLin' this prog JUST for the SSS alone! I was at the site, and it says the updated C5,not C5pro now supports P6 Dynamic clothe/hair imports! Any conformation in this?

Also, I was wondering about Vue5 INF/C5 comparisons..At $200
for this prog I'm there!

BTW: Why haven't I seen any SSS on the characters in the gallery section, if anyone has info of C5's SSS capabillities, I'd sure like to know!

I forgot to ask about the memory capabillites as well, I have 1 gig of ram, yet my Vue5 INF drains it to 200-100mb on a simple 500,000 poly char import!

Honestly I would go for Pro. I have it and I love it. Especially when you want to use it with Poser, because Transposer is included. Carrara 5 Pro runs on my notebook with a 1,2 GHz Pentium M and 512MByte RAM. In my opinion Carrara 5 Pro is mostly superior to Vue5 Inf, because it has a lot more features.

Thanks for the info Singular3D,andRingo! Oddly enough, found this at the same link ya gave me as well! http://www.eovia3d.net/showthread.php?t=5842 WHAAHOOO! Looks like I'm-a-gonna be out $200!! I'll get 5, not 5pro as of yet, I'll wait til the price drops a bit, so I can do an upgrade in the future! I'm glad my AMD 1.9ghz 1024mb ram ATI 9550 128 AGP will be able to handle it!

Maybe look at the sidegrade offer. A Vue, Poser or other program license is sufficient. I'm sure your AMD will handle it.
