to be perfectly honest... after seeing the printed manual, and how some of the new features that I was personally interested in (the reasons I upgraded) were left out of it, or changes in the program that were not changed in the manual... I kinda wish I had've saved the time and money and gotten the download version. All the stuff is documented... in the help menu, rather than the manual...

I DID get a new t-shirt out of it, though... so that's a plus.
but that doesn't really answer your question...
EDIT: FWIW...not all of the new features were left out of the printed manual... just the ones I was interested in... hence my personal disappointment... not in the software, which was worth the money and more, but the manual, which I would think would be the primary reason for purchasing the boxed version.

so you get all the software with the download, just not the printed materials?

Yes, you do get all the software as the box version. I just purchased the download version before Thanksgiving. I was concerned about the manual as well, and there is a PDF manual included in the download version. The funny thing about the PDF manual on the Mac is that its somehow embedded in the application file, while on the PC it is a separate file. When you go to the help menu on the Mac and choose "Carrara Help" it tries to open Acrobat Reader. If you have the newer Adobe Reader on your Mac, you will have to open it prior to choosing "Carrara Help". The PC version does not have a problem opening it directly in Adobe Reader. Chris
