ok this has got to be easy, but i cant figure it out...sigh..im trying to make a balloon...a simple balloon nothing fancy...i made the cross section in Illustrator and am trying to import it into Carrara 3+...my idea was to bring the crosssection in and lathe it...but i cant lathe in the spline modeler so i converted it and too it into a mesh and went in there to lathe but it wont let me, so im doing that wrong too...lol..im cursed..

Hi Todd, This can be done by extruding along a path using different shaped cross sections. Choose 'symetrical' for an extrusion option and make sure that you use "center cross section" the pull down menu for your first cross section. The knot on my balloon could certainly use a little more adjustment but it shows the general idea. Good luck! Mark
