Subject: How to bake texture to a model for bone action

Mun ( ) posted Sat, 24 January 2004 at 1:10 PM · edited Wed, 20 May 2026 at 6:58 AM

Hi, I've just ordered Carrara-3 and currently using the demo. When I applied texture map to the model and inserted bones to it the texture map does not stick to the model when I try to create a pose. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

How are you attaching the texture map? Can you give us a screenshot of your shader?

Here is the screenshot of my cylinder, as I bend and move the bones, the texture does not follow. I don't know the difference between layer-list and multi-channel mixer.

Well layer list would be if you had an object with multiply domains. That aside. Is this a cylinder primitive? Vertex object? Spline model? What I would recommend is mapping the model in the uv editor. If its not to pressing and can wait about a week, there will be a tutorial in the next issue of 3dxtract that will cover similar issues. Otherwise I'll post some screenshots of what I mean later. Its 214 am here, just didn't want to leave you hanging. cheers, Brian

Its a vertex cylinder and I will go to Eovia web side to find out about UV editor, does it work on demo version? My time is 12.00 midnight 26-1-04.
