Subject: v1.1 Moving to the Modelling Room

Hi. Newbie here. Having great fun with v1.1 (yup, 'Digit' magazine). Two questions if I may. 1..I'm working on vertices in the modelling room. Save my WIP as a .car file. Go back later and sometimes I can open the model ok as a vertex object in the modelling room. Sometimes I can't (either no working window, just the preview which shows the model) and sometimes a 'no parameter' message. I've read the manual, but answer find I none. The only thing I've found that helps is to go back into Assembly, save the model as an .obj, load in Poser, save as a fresh .obj, and then all is well. What am I missing ('cept brain cells)? 2.. A model has two separate parts, loaded in the same window. Again, saved as a .car file. Go back later and both parts appear in the Assembly room, but I can't get both parts to transfer into the Modelling room. I've tried all the combinations I can think of (grouping before and/or after saving/importing, shift-clicking both parts in different orders, ctrl+A to select all before saving, deselecting all before saving) and only saving out as a one-piece .obj seems to work. Ok .. there's a third question. If I stump up for v3, will this problem go away? Cheers. Moochie.

This problem is a little strange but I would venture to say that your file is somehow corrupt. Does this problem occur again after re-importing back through poser? 2.) In general, you can only work on one object at a time in the modeling room. Sometimes you create a single object which appears to be more than one but they're really one object. If you have created two separate objects, you can't combine them by simply selecting both and going back into the modeling room. As far as fixing this in V3, I'm not sure what your original problem is. -Kix
