Subject: AnythingGrows Problem

I seem to be having a problem with one of my vertex objects when attempting to apply Anything Grows to the object. The hair that I have attempted to add seems to be growing into the vertex object instead of outside. In the first picture all settings are on (vertex object, base object of AnythingGrows and strands of AnythingGrows). Yet it creates a strange effect. With the next picture (left side) the only part changed is the Base Object is no longer selected on AnythingGrows. The right side has the vertex object selected as invisible and Base Object not selected. Therefore only showing the Strands themselves. It seems as if AnythingGrows is having the Strands grow inwards into the vertex object instead of outwards.

Hi Jason, Anything Grows strands follow the surface normal. Try taking your object back into the Vertex Modeler and reversing the normals. Under Carrara 1 & 2, it's the Polymesh|Reverse Polymesh Normals menu in the Vertex Modeler. In Carrara 3 is Selections|Reverse Polygons Normal. Good luck, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild 3D plug-ins for Carrara http://digitalcarversguild.com

Thanks Eric, that was exactly what was wrong. I must have clicked on that some time accidently.
