My boss is considering to get a copy of Carrara studio 3. I wonder if the new version of carrara works with the actual copy of vector style.

I asked the same question to the Eovia folks and was told that there will be an update allowing VectorStyle to work with C3. Mark

Then it means if we buy the actual version of vector style it wont work with C3 and we have to wait for the upfgrade?

That's correct. However, I suspect that it will be a simultaneous release. And, if you're using C2 you'll still get some excellent use out of it. I can't speak for the folks at Eovia but they will probably grant a free upgrade if you are buying this close to the release of C3. I'd give them a call and ask though.

I read on the Yahoo list that using the 'old' VectorStyle plugin actually crashes C3. So you have to wait. I hope the latest version of the Ravix III engine will be used (with reflections and more) in the update!

That is true, the original VectorStyle doesn't play nice with C3 at all; but that's why I still have C2 on my machine though...

I received a reply from Antoine several months back concerning VectorStyle and upgrading it to RavixIII, and while he didn't promise anything, he did indicate it was a possibility. I suspect that RavixIII will make it into a VectorStyle upgrade soon because of the growing popularity of Carrara as a low cost, though very capable, animation package and the continued demand for Flash content in websites. Additionally, RavixIII came out not long after the release of VectorStyle, and I'm sure Eovia was aware of RavixIII, when they released VectorStyle with RavixII. I just purchased the C3 upgrade and VectorStyle, which for now I'll have to use with C2, and I'll hope that RavixIII is not too far off. Chris
