Thanks for wip help in the forum. The background space is four 2d images from Apophysis flames stacked on each other at varying distance from the camera. The Bryce sky is black and no star field. I manipulated the transparency of the different 2d's to get the layering effect I wanted within Bryce. The Planet is two spheres; innermost has a seamless 2d based texture I created, the outer one is a glass. Both sphere mats are set at "fuzzy". The man is Daz M3 outfitted in Major Cache armor (also from Daz)that I re-textured in Bryce with a techno look. I also deleted a portion of the helmet and replaced it with a glass sphere. The brighter stars are visible radial lights set behind the nebula 2d plane. The planet and space man are lit with spotlights set at "ranged" to keep from illuminating unwanted parts of the scene. Minimal post work except for clone brushing some spots in the armor a couple miss shaped stars. Good luck, everyone.
