For the sacrifice of giving up her eyes to the creation of Siberlee's child and so her ability to see all the wondrous twinkling lights of the heavens, The One rewarded Sola with the most beautiful race on Mernac the Elves. There are many, many sub-races of Elves, including High Elves - the first Elvin race, Grey Elves, Snow Elves, Water Elves and more. But all Elves, with the exception of the Wood Elves, pray to Sola in one way or another, for all believe that Light and Life are truly intertwined. To truly be alive, they feel, is to have keen eyesight to be able to see the light. And to that end the Elves typically feel it is their duty and the humane thing to do to kill any who do not have the gift of sight, even newborn infants. For they fear that such beings could easily fall into the clutches of the Lord of Darkness and Evil.
