Instantly Salina’s mind transported her back to the scene of that very morning. She could see herself; she had just finished off the last two Hell Hounds and had dropped to the ground in exhaustion. Alicia, Vanessa’s new adopted kitten was wandering toward her, quietly mewing for attention. Salina watched as the cat suddenly stopped, hissed, turned tail and ran from her.
