Pantomime is a traditional holiday season entertainment which is normally performed for audiences at Christmas and is a source of work for many actors at what other wise would be a bleak time of year. The crowd would often have a bad character to shout at and hero or heroine to get behind. My animation deals with a theme of the heroine escaping a witch (the deeper meaning for me is one of winters grip being overcome as we mark the Winter Solstice at Christmas also). The old style black and white film is that old element so reminiscent of the many reruns which were always on at Christmas when I was a child.
