The Book of THoTH

The Book of THoTH, in cooperation with best selling author Philip Gardiner, has struck a deal with one of the worlds leading publishing companies - Reality Entertainment - to create a new book entitled The Book of THoTH : Wisdom of the Ages. The idea behind the book is to give unpublished authors a chance to have their voices heard and to share their articles on the following subjects:

General Contest Rules:

  Ancient wisdom, knowledge brought into the modern age..In this contest we are looking for an image that would be appropriate for the cover of The Book of THoTH : Wisdom of the Ages. Please visit The Book of THoTH web site (http://www.book-of-thoth.com/) to view the stories and topics. The image may depict any of the stories or concepts or combinations there of, which can be found on that web site.

• Full Image: No larger than 768 Width x 1024 Height pixels [portrait only format; 72 dpi in jpg or gif format] to upload on the website.
• Thumbnail Image: Thumbnail image MUST be included. (may be up to 100 x 100 pixels in jpg or gif format.)
• IMPORTANT NOTES:
  
  • The Grand Prize Winner is required to provide a print ready copy of the winning submission.
  • The print version may NOT contain any text, or signatures. The final layout of the book cover will be completed by the publisher/printer and they will take care of adding the text and credits.
  • The printed image size must be: 9 inches vertical by 6 inches horizontal.
  • Printing format must be: a hi def pdf, .eps, or .jpg at 300 dpi. We recommend that you create the 300 dpi, print ready image, first. Save it. Then resize to 72 dpi and save to use as the Full Image for the web site submission.
  • The online submission may contain a book title mock-up and the artist's signature, as long as the print version of the image can be supplied without the text. The layout of the final printed version may be altered by the publisher/printer.

Contest Rules:

• Entries must follow these contest guidelines:
• Art will be submitted should be suitable as a book cover.
• Multiple entries per artist are permitted.
• Entries may not be previously published works.
• All entries must by made by the artist that created it and must be the property of the artist.
• One (1) prize maximum per winner will be awarded.
• The image must comply with Renderosity's Terms of Service.
• The winner of this contest will appear on the cover of The Book of THoTH. This will provide "professional credits" but no additional payment besides any prizes won in the contest that will be paid.
• Mild nudity is allowed if it fits the story. (NO frontal nudity, or bare buttocks.)
• No violence allowed.
• All entries will be reviewed before being posted.
• We reserve the right to reject entries that may not be suitable for this contest.
• Open to all Renderosity members except Sponsors, Judges, Admins and Bondware employees.

Judging:

• How well does the art "fit" the book?
• How well does the art communicate the contents of the book?
• How creative is the image?
