They often say that love happens the moment you lay eyes on that special someone for the very first time. It's as if the stars were perfectly aligned and the two of you were destined to meet in order to share eternity with one another.

But what if your soulmate was really not the person they seemed to be? That after the vows were exchanged and the last bit of cake had been eaten you soon discovered a haunting reality too frightening to even imagine.

This is your opportunity to let your creative juices run wild and interpret what the complete opposite of wedded bliss might be.

Entry Specifications:

  • Short Story must be a maximum of 1000 words or less
  • Thumbnail Image: MUST be included 100x100pixels Here is a helpful tutorial on How to make Full Image Thumbnails
  • Save and upload THIS image in both the Image and Thumbnail field. (You must upload both or the system will not accept the entry.)

  • Do NOT use html formatting.
  • Double space between paragraphs.
  • Entries must not have previously won a Renderosity Contest.
  • All stories must comply with Renderosity's Terms of Service
  • Use the description field to tell us your tale, noting what inspired you.
  • Include the word count at the end of the story.
  • Stories that do not follow the contest rules or our Terms of Service will be removed.
  • Vote soliciting will not be tolerated. Entrants that solicit votes will be disqualified without warning. This includes, but is not limited to, emailing and sitemailing members.
  • We recommend not waiting until the end of the contest to upload your entry. It is common for upload and/or approval complications to arise. Please give yourself ample time to correct your entry, if need be. Corrections will NOT be accepted if they are not time stamped by Oct. 16, 10:00am.
  • By uploading your image you are agreeing that this is your original work.

    Community Voting:

    The winners will be selected by the community. All clone votes will be removed.


All prize winners must supply Renderosity with their real name, email address, and mailing address for prize distribution and registration.

By entering this contest, you agree that all submission may be used by Renderosity for promotional purposes: online, digital, in print, on CD, or in any other medium. By submitting your entry into this contest you are granting Renderosity the right to retain your entry in it's archive and to display the entry within this community to promote Renderosity or future contests held.

By submitting this form, you agree that you are authorized to grant Renderosity the permission to use of your image in print advertising, promotions or website usage. The Artist will remain the intellectual property holder of their images.
