Description

"I am assigning you a rank and designation that suits your new position. You no longer have a name. You will answer only to Cipher Nine," echoed the words of Keeper in his thoughts. "And you are no longer Watcher Two, your new designation is now Watcher Zed. You will no longer handle multiple agents, Cipher Nine will be your only concern," Keeper said to the young woman, then continued speaking to both, "as of this moment, neither of you exist. You have no past, present or future... you are ghosts. You are to report immediately to Darth Nox of the Dark Council over in the Sith Enclave. You both belong to the Darth now, who will brief you on your next assignment... get moving."

"Cipher, did you hear what Keeper said?" ,Watcher Zed impatiently asked, "we're being reassigned to a Darth Nox of the Dark Council, we are expected shortly. Come, get your head out of the clouds, the last thing either of us needs is to have a high ranking Sith angry with us." Also recalling the rest of Keeper's words, Watcher began to dread what lay ahead for her as well.

Still staring at the console before him, Cipher Nine addressed his handler, "you're right Watcher, I hope this won't be like the last time a Darth summoned me. That almost got me killed before I took three steps into her office. Crazy bitch had her bodyguards attack me as a 'test' to see if I was worthy to serve her, what a waste, four men dead." Still talking to the woman, he went on, "by the way, congratulations on your promotion, too. If we both live long enough, the first round's on me."

"Under normal circumstances, I don't fraternize with my charges," Watcher replied, then taking a deep breath, "but times change and I have a feeling when this is all over, that will be first of many rounds we'll owe each other. With that said, shall we be on our way?"

After an overly flamboyant bow, Cipher reached out to take Watcher's arm in his, "we shall" he quipped in an aristocratic tone and began to lead her from the halls of Intelligence Headquarters to their appointment with their new employer.

Within the ranks of Imperial Intelligence, there are none more respected and feared than the Cipher Agent. These field agents serve as spies, assassins and saboteurs for the Sith's fearsome Imperial Intelligence. Through them, they were able to dominate countless starsystems across the galaxy by tracking down as well as eliminating the Empire's enemies which ranged from senators of the Galactic Republic to traitorous Imperial Moffs and bloodthirsty rebels who had ties to the Republic. The skills required for such a task meant that Imperial agents had to master the arts of infiltration, seduction, espionage, sabotage, as well as assassination in order to further the Empire's cause. These shadowy soldiers had to face opposition in both the terrified galaxy as well as the capriciousness of the Sith Lords. "Imperial intelligence operatives are clearly just as deadly as their Sith superiors," Jedi Master Gnost-Dural was reported to have said, especially when referring to the elite Cipher agents.
