Shion (right) defies orders from her sister Tia and engages the unseen enemy. This is also a work in progress, with the goal being to give better thought to setting up lighting and shadowing. I'm using Digital Lighting and Rendering by Jeremy Birn as a guide. The yellow cast on Shion is from Tiffany firing her laser (off-screen here, but seen in City Defender I). I'm going to have all three characters in the final render of this scene. There is also a red cast along Shion's side from her glowing sword. Known flaws: * Updated 12/2/09: Shion's shadow is missing, which is caused by that odd square under her and Tia. I have no idea how to get rid of it. I've tried removing the asphalt texture, turning off some lights, and moving the ground plane around. Nothing worked. I tried just hiding the ground plane, since there is a paved road that they're on. However, if I wanted the shadows, I'd have to move the city block up. That only threw everything off. * The aforementioned square has a red glow on the right from the red lights off-screen. * I lit the Armored Half Track with a spolight coming from the ground, because otherwise it would not show up in the render save for the already highlighted windows, making it look odd. I've decided to change Tianna's name to simply Tia, due to my concern about Disney's using that name for their new Princess. Tianna and Shion are also princesses, but probably not for much longer.
