well done this icon start to become somethimg of te past....
i love those tele boothes, always makes me think of Dr Who...heh heh!!! excellent tonal range and composition!!! very well done!!!
Seems strange to see a grey coloured box, instead of red. But I like your treatment here. Sadly, many of these boxes are in a sad state, used as toilets, vandalized, etc. Yet mobile phones on the day of the London bombings seemed particularly vulnerable to crashing during the crisis. The networks are also liable to be shut down to forestall the possibility of mobiles being used as bomb-triggering devices. These old, neglected boxes are more durable and less corruptible by bad people. But when Londoners needed them on Thursday morning many of those were out of order, their coin slots jammed, or already decommissioned by BT... So let's urge BT to look after them before they fall apart!
Now this is about as British as it gets! Agree with Nigel above too... too many braindead people about, they don't care whether it's one of the old style boxes like these or one of the new grey ones, it's all good for wrecking sigh. No thought for people needing them in emergencies. Anyway, pointless slipping into a diatribe about human insanity, let's just appreciate the art of photography like this. Monochrome shots like this (with a hint of sepia) are very popular with some people, I can imagine you finding your niche if the right people get to see you work :-)
Telephone boxed AND a double decker! Straight to the heart of London - all it needs is a few pidgeons (joking, it doesnt really ;) ).
I love this kind of street art - found object in sepia type thing. Good shooting Tibby.
Belated happy Bday to Z. I know this is a phone booth, but whenever I see these I can't help but think of the Dr. Who TARDIS police box. ;]
