Black Hill: Just above and beyond this plant, my hike on Humuula Trail begins again. There is a Hawaiian name for this hill but for now, its called Black Hill. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

Georgeous flowers!!!!! and i love that Black Hill. i know this sounds a bit silly, but it reminds me a bit of the desert....maybe because the top part of the hill is so barren and because the vegetation looks so dry. I luv seeing Hawaii!!!!
That flowers looks as a painting...and where is growing is nothing to belive! Excellent shots!*****!
I agree with tvernuccio, nice plant life. And it is kind of like a desert. This Island was created from lava. But, all things still grow no matter how harsh the environment. Aloha.
gorgeous view...and a lovely play of light in the leaves and flowers
Wonderful !!!
Incredible shots, Errol! Really love the top one... the light and shadow play is amazing and that plant is most beautiful! Like the second on too... a wonderful compo and clear light!

Such dramatic terrain in Hawaii, from lush greens to volcanic rocks with sparce vegetation. Excellent images!!!!
Beautiful light and colors. Very impressive images.
wonderful colored and lighted strong plant in this deserted area! very impressive capture of the black hill! ;o)
Beautiful plant and forbidding hill...the light seems harsher at this elevation.
Wow, looks very inviting to me for a good hike! Perfect weather and a beautiful landscape! Let's go!
Hard to believe a beautiful plant could survive in this harsh environment, but life goes on. Crisp and clean Sharky! Aloha~
