Description
This the Medieval great barn at Great Coxwell built in the early part of the 12th Centuary probably unique in the World. Taken from the West face
Barns have a long history, not only because of their use for food storage and farming, but because of their heavy influence on church architecture. The thing that makes so many people fall in love with an old barn is the amazing space inside -- the same space that you get in the nave of a classic church. Here some 5502 Square feet.. It is thought that barns served as early churches in Europe. Even today, we still use the same architectural terms: nave and aisle most notably.

Haven't visited Your beautiful gallery for long and each time I call i see that one of Your most distinctive talent is Your highly artistic vision - to take a 'simple' scene and 'transform' it into a highly artistic compo. That takes a great skill as well of course. Happy Easter, Danni!
I love it! It transports me through time and space. A beautiful shot.
Such a clear crisp architectural portrain here Danny, the POV is perfect for enhancing that "church" effect. A great photo and thanks for sharing the trivia, I wasn't aware of medieval barn's histories.
