Description
outside the fugus in Montana, this is the largest living thing on earth. i had to be over a 1/4 mile away to get the whole tree in one frame even with a 35mm setting. Gen. Sherman is found in Sequoia National Park in California.

wow... that's pretty impressive... the old General ought to be a Colonel by now!
Very impressive you hardly notice the people around the base :)
I just gently chewed on one of my co-workers for wasting paper and the tree's involved. He smiled and said, "Yes Mom!" If I had this at the time I think my effect would have been more effective. Excellent photo!
You captured it well...brought back a lot of fine memories ...have seen it years ago ! Thank you for sharing!
Excellent!
there are some gigantic redwoods in California also. beautiful shot
A great shot of a magnificient tree. (And to think that nitwit Reagan wanted to cut down all the redwoods except for a couple dozen.)
Impressive shot, wish you had included a few facts, e.g. how tall, how old.
what an outstanding and impressive find! very interesting and looks fantastic large! great capture! ;o)
Wow...... impressive!
the tree is older than Christ and tho not the tallest tree in the world, does have more volume than any living thing (outside the fungus).
Pinus aristata beats him in age, but that volume, that's just incredible!
