Description
Photo catch by Giancarlo in spring 1981 in the Dolomiti mountains in Italy. Spring in the mountains is a marvellous season.
Giancarlo often goes in the Dolomiti, it adored these mountains. There he felt in peace, and at his place, in the middle of this generous and magic Nature.
While walking in a valley, he met this superb marmot which whistled to prevent he's congeneric of an intruder on their territory... It's brilliant to hear and see the marmots. They are beautiful, fast, and amusing too.

When I was a child I often walked with my parents in the swiss alps and everytime I enjoyed viewing one of those little cuties. You're right, their "whistle" is so clear and can be heard at long distance, and unfortunately when you hear them you don't see them anymore :-).... thx for sharing
