Description
I painted this for 2D Forum February Theme with watercolours on canvas. Original size is about 37 x 46 cm (about 15 x 18,5 inches).
If complemement colours are blended there should become grey. In print media they check the colour balance with grey. In PhotoShop you can also adjust colours effciently with grey.
But also in real life: grey has all hues in it - all sorrows, all joys. You go to dark blue or violet sorrows, or to bright joyous moments; but there is also a moment when you feel balanced; it's bright and filled with all tones and hues - grey. Grey is beautiful!
Thanks for Cassie (crrunchyfrog) for inspiration and advices with watercolours on canvas *hugs*

an appropriate peice for this time of year for alot of people. Ok...for me. LOL. Trying not to totally withdraw, making myself have some happiness, but there is some sorrow too. I have a hard time with the idea of sharing that in my art. Thanks. ~lost
great work i love the colors
"A Great Work Of Art...This Is So Remarkable!!"
Your approach to this theme is so full of imagination & insight Titta! I love the way you have shown the relationship between the qualities of colour & the feeelings the express, a very striking image but full of subtlety too, grey is beautiful & most especially here! Great work ; )
Love this one a lot.. so very expressive and aesthetic, yet not obvious, and very clever. you did a fantastic job :)
You are so very insightful and talented Titta huge hugs This is a very interesting image and so well executed for so early on in this particular media. Thank you as always for creating and sharing huge hugs :)
Ohh..!!! Wonderful painting and colors....!!! very impressive image..!! love it..!!
Seeing this final image I like the transitions between the colours, but no wonderful tumbling red hair I almost feel sorry for her.
excellent use of color & design, she looks quite pleased in it with her "titta expressive features" the complementary =grey is well thought out :]
You really are on a go with this month's theme. Beautiful symbolism here and a great way to show it, wonderfully composed! I have never thought of grey in the termes of balance, thanks for feeding my mind :-)
Well done - like the use of gray in this as well.
this one's more than amazing, dear titta... hugesthugs i love what you did here... ! and i really envy you for your abilities... it's an amazing piece - the face, the strcutures and your play with forms and shading here... and the way you worked with the grey here... simply wow... :) i don't know what to say else... just wow... and this is such a gift you gave us here... dancewithyou ;)
Beautiful and knowlegeable use of colours, and I think you have her expression of self assurance and contentment spot on. This philosophical work got me thinking that maybe the colour of Buddhism should be grey (not orange) as it prescribes the non-attachment Middle Way between attachment to joy and suffering. Great work, titta.
Great portrait my friend ... very very well done and these colors are just fantastic !!!
Great mediums watercolour on canvas and such a cool idea for the balance, Joy+Sorrow and all the greys in life. I can really feel her presence. Outstanding!!
