Description
The next day: Raining cats and dogs!
So I decided to spend the bad day in the port Oban, a nice little town.
I was surprised to discover a sea-dog (lion?), begging near the fisher boats. Because of the bad weather I left my camera in my car! While running back to get it the sea-dog was gone! ;o(
The roman building on the hill:
McCaig's Tower, the Colosseum-like structure overlooking Oban bay was the dream of philanthropic banker John Stuart McCaig. The tower is nearly one hundred years old, and offers tangible evidence of Oban's fine Victorian past.
Thanks for your visit and all comments I be curious to read! ;o)))

Beautiful, Rita... My "Vote". Thank for message , I will...
Great panoramic shot of Oban, Rita. Several years ago I took my son there for a week. The weather was fair, sunny, and no 'midges' or mosquitos, which are normally a plague on visitors. We walked around the town, and went on two boat trips to the island of Mull , and one to Iona ( where the Scottish kings are buried ). On one trip we stopped next to a seal colony ( on the far side of the island which guards Oban ). My son then told me he had rowed out with friends on kayacks two years earlier on a school trip, and rowed right up to the seals! I was envious! I am sure that you saw and captured many shots. Thanks for this one. It brought back memories. Regards, John.

You have captured a very beautiful landscape here, Rita :)) Perfect POV and I love the greyish reflection of this town in the river : perfect a usual :))
It makes me nostalgic to look at this beautiful view of Oban, even under the rain. Oban is for me the door to Mull, and my memories there are quite vivid and full of hiking, sunny moorland (yes!!!)and the multitude of islets and gorse flowers....I'll stop the list before you get bored :-)
