Description
There is obviously a story to this image. You thought it was a fractal, but it is not. It is a closeup of the inside of our little friends ear. Taken with a Nikon D100 and macro lens, this image shows the complicated workings of the Xyranthian inner ear chambers. I will not go into detail about exactly how they hear sound, because Im not really sure. But I assure you, it not like us.
Anyway, I have included photos of his home planet and one snapshot of Tim himself, the Xyranthian, just in case you didn't believe my story. Photos never lie.

Great image, Craig! Love the story to go with the image! Someone has an overactive imagination or you've been too close to the laughing gas! :) (all great images)
