Description
Nekid Tree: The misspelled word "Naked Tree" was done on purpose. I did not want to mislead anyone and hope I did not. Here is another tree without leaves. This tree leans towards the sunset horizon and is mooning the sunrise horizon. Why? I just don't know. They seem to have a character of their own. The Hawaiian name for Naked is kohana. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

Kohana??? I saw one of those on the road to Hana!!! no kidding!!! Excellent shot of this lonely looking tree!!!!!
Nice shot. Nekid hey? Like the form on it.
Leaning so much it almost looks like it hurts. Tree arthritis. Beautiful view too!
Whenever i see Neekid trees I think of old Woodies....so...i am not decieved...fine detail.
Love this shot. Beautiful.
Well done...interesting
Remarkable tree, but I think it's dead and lost its branches. Beautiful shot!
All four seasons on this photo! Excellent shot!!!!
Maybe some lava scorched it's roots, who knows. Full of character anyhow and a great subject for your photos. Khonan sounds a lot like kahones, probably no relation though. ;) Thanks for your reply to my thoughts about the observatories, they probably do help indirectly preserve the area around them.
Hey, I think it needs more sunshine on it's Moon perhaps........;)
impressive catch of the dead tree! looks like a skeleton between all the other green trees! fantastic lighted and colored scene! ;o)
Strange tree and history of it : I hve never seen an alive tree without leaves :)) Hawai is a very special land :)) And you ar elucky to leave ther :)) Wonderful shot :))
Aloha Chantal. I don't think these trees are alive. But even after their passing, their souls will never leave this mountain. They seem to have more character without leaves than with. Aloha
Wonderful shot.
