Description
This photo is for Lejimi. ;-) in gratitude for teaching me a new word which I use to drive co-workers crazy and in honor of his grand-pere. (I will let him explain if he chooses.)
This old/modern building now houses a company that makes building trusses and other prefabrications. When I last saw it in 1996, it was the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors: they built railway engines. Thus the connection with my current meandering railway industrial theme.
What type engines did they build? I don't know exactly. Probably BHD's -- Big Honking Diesels.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
Postwork: just a little sharpening up. It's been very overcast lately. IMO adds to the tired look of some of these places.

Thank you mister Weesel for this picture. Yes ! I will explain a little for others surfers : my grand father worked for about forty years in factories where were made big Diesel engines. Some where used for locomotives. He also worked at St Nazaire for "les chantiers de l'Atlantique" where they made boats. He was still working on diesel engines, but these ones where gigantic with several hundreds liters of "cylindr" (displacement ????) and up to sixteen cylinders !
very interesting and impressive capture of this branch of industry! very well done here! ;o) also thanks lejimi for the info! ;o)
you can tell it had it's hay day, and still finds itself useful
