good work on the shadows..it's a pain somtimes when the shadow of the ship destroys the scale of the planet..;) I'd try using some more texture..there's some good mats out there on the web (do a search on Bryce mats in Google; it already has a canned search with a lot of mats..like, well, over a thousand)..you might want to try a planet texture, then create a 2nd sphere, increase the size slightly, and texture with a volumetric texture for an atmosphere..keep up the good work.
