Description
This is the original Leanach Cottage, on Culloden Battlefield, which survived the battle being fought around it, has been restored several times and is now open to the public.
32 wounded Jacobites were burnt alive in one of the other now vanished outbuildings by Cumberland's Soldiers.

First of all I was absolutely impressed by the colors and the frame. I clicked on the thumb and I was impressed again with the picture itself. Superb colors and superb point of view. SUPERB !
I have never seen such an unusual roof. Excellent shot!

Wundersch aufgenommen und prentiert! Das Licht, die Farben... superb!
I LOVE this! The roof and stonework are just incredible. Is the ground cover really this green..feels like velvet. Interesting bit of history. Thanks, Rita!
thanks for the little history...that one is a super living history!!!
Classic! The border could be less intrusive though. This must be the house from the Diana Gabaldon Outlander books where Jamie Frazier lay wounded after the Battle of Culloden. Awsome to see it in real life!
