Description

Jack Russells are noted for being sound asleep and suddenly leaping up growling or barking and begin tearing around the house as if chasing some "gremlin" only they can see. Every once in a while, Juli wakes me up at 2:31 a.m. or 3:47 a.m. or some other inconvenient time in early morning hours, needing to go "job." So we go out and she does her thing. However, there are times when, all of a sudden, she stiffens, the hair on her neck and shoulders bristling and a low, scared growl seeps quietly from her mouth. I peer intently into the darkness. It seems the same quiet street it has always been. It's probably some critter's scent from two blocks away. Probably. Then with more of a whimper than a growl,Juli--who rarely turns away from anything--slowly starts backing up. So do I. We both ease our way back to the safety of the lighted porch and wedge our way past the doorway into the house. Thanks for looking! Jeremy Credits: garage: Der Jimmi; textured by me. Ahh - a new description "over caffinated". LMAO. Love the beastie. Horror is that it is likely a good portrayal of what Juli does see. Well done as always.

This is so cool. I've had pets that did this sort of thing. For all I could tell she'd be barking at a little rock. But maybe this is more accurate.

I think they see things we either cannot or don't know how to interpret.

Very well executed! I like when dogs are chasing something in their dreams, all the little twitches and soft barks or growls and I always wonder what they are chasing:-) Tanner does it too and I know he hasn't seen any rabbits or such yet...so just in case its a nightmare, lol, I reach out and pat hime softly for reassurance!
